By:Aziz Kingrani,Johi,Sindh,Pakistan: Nani Gopal was born in 1897 but Ishtiaq Ansari has quoted wrongly in his book "Gorakh" on page 65, published in 2009 that Nani Gopal was born in 1868. In Bangladesh archaeology department had celebrated 1897 as the birth century year of N G Majumdar.He was assassinated on 11 November 1938 during the explorations at the ancient site "Rohel Ji Kund" on the right bank of river "Gaaj" near the foothills of Kheerthar range, close to Johi, Sindh, Pakistan. Since 1927-29 he explored above 50 sites of early Indus civilization period.The contribution or work of this celebrated archaeologist and paleographer is noted as under:-
