Lisa Riccio lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her two teenage daughters. In The Watcher, the characters of Mason, Benny, and Connor and their father were patterned after her own brothers and (late) father, all of whom are law enforcement officers in South Carolina. Growing up in a large family (three brothers and three sisters) gave her inspiration in developing the storyline of the close knit Irish/Italian family (her father was actually Italian as opposed to the Irish father in the book). A single mother, she continues to work full time with the County of Charleston while raising her two daughters and is currently working on her second book.
