Carol Ann Pearce's first novel, "Summer Term," was published in the early 1950's when she was 22. It was the first in a series set at St. Kelvern's Girls School, and was followed by two sequels, "We're in the Sixth" and "St. Kelvern's Launch Out". Pearce also wrote short fiction for a girls' annuals such as the "Collins Girls Annual" and "The Crackerjack Girls Annual."
