H.A. Anil Kumar is an art critic, curator and art historian, lives in Bangalore (India). Studied M.A in Curating Contemporary Art from Royal College of Arts, London (2004-05), studied M.F.A in Art History from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal (India, 1990-92) and has a formal degree in Painting (1990, College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore University). He has written on visual culture and Kannada films from past two decades in two languages (English and Kannada). He is a recepient of Charles Wallace India Trust award (2004-05); and Unesco-Aschberg scholarship (was an artist-in-residence in HIAP, Helsinki, Finland, 2004) under this scholarship. Currently he teaches history of art and aesthetics at CFA, Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore. He has written art columns, articles, reviews and articles on cultural studies for 'Art & Deal' (New Delhi) and Lalitkala Publications (New Delhi). His major publications include monographs on artists like K.T.Shiva Prasad, T.Vaikuntam, Shankaragowda Bettadoor, Svetoslav and Nicholas Roerich.
