Frederick Lawrence Green was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. He married in 1929, and relocated to Belfast, Ireland, where his wife was from. His first novel, Julius Penton, was published in 1934. His most popular novel was Odd Man Out (1945), which was made into a film in 1947. His last novel, Ambush For the Hunter, was published in 1952. He published 14 novels in all.
