Graduated OCS July 24, 1942. Served in 443 AW, SP Battalion. Combat in N. Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany, Austria. Discharged as Captain in 1946. Married Lydia Ann Gibson July 29, 1942. One son, Stephen Kent, born in Sherman, TX October 6, 1946. Graduated magna cum laude from Austin College, Sherman, TX 1949. Attended Washington University as graduate assistant for 1 year.
