Dr.Palla Durgiah,M.A.,Phd was a great telugu poet in 19th centuary.He was the first graduate from osmania university to be awarded M.A in telugu in 1942.After his nobel work on the subject he was awarded a doctorate by the same university for his skill full description on classical poetry, linguistic styles of poet "Allasani peddana" in his book 'Prabandha vāṅmaya vikāsamu' (1973).He is considered as one of the good poets from telengana region of andhra pradesh along with Dasharadhi krishanmacharrulu,C Narayan reddy.

ఉస్మానియా విశ్వావిద్యాలయం నుండి 1942లో ముట్టమొదటి తెలుగు M.A,1960లో Ph.D డిగ్రీ పొందారు.ఉస్మానియా విశ్వావిద్యాలయంలో 1945 నుండి అధ్యాపకులుగా ఉంటూ 1976లో ఉద్యోగ విరమాణం. ఆయన మడికొండ (వరంగల్) జన్మస్థలం .దాశరధి ,C నారాయణ రెడ్డి తో పాటూ తెలంగాణా ప్రాంతనింకి చందిన కవి. సాంప్రదాయ సిద్ధమిన పాండిత్యం,చక్కని ప్రతిభ,భావ గంభీర్యం,నర్మహాస్యం,నుడికారపు సొంపు వీరి కవిత లో అంతటా కనిపిస్తాయి.
