Benedicta Adiwati Surodjo was born in Yogyakarta on 16 April 1954. Her father was an Indonesian Airforce officer (Mr. FX Surodjo Sudiro) and her mother (Mrs. F.Sumarni Surodjo) formerly was a teacher.
She studied her Elementary, Junior and Highschool (Cor Jesu) in Malang, East Java. She spent 3 years in LPK Tarakanita Jakarta and then graduated from Law Faculty, Universitas Indonesia.
After several years practiced her skills, she established her own Law Firm, Benedicta & Associates.
In mid 2006, doctors said that she suffered of leukemia. She knew well about this, and encouraged other patients to enlighten their happiest time. Her last two years was supported by many individuals who donored their blood. But until the last day of her life she was still in high spirit.
