Herbert S. Denenberg, is a lawyer, author of seven books, former college professor. From 1969-1970, he was Presidents of the American Risk and Insurance Association. In 1971, he became Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance. He served as professor of Insurance at the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce of the University of Pennsylvania. In 1974, after losing his run for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination for Pennsylvania, he became a consumer-affairs reporter on the evening news program at a Philadelphia television station. He also wrote a weekly column for the Philadelphia Bulletin.
