This Terry Bell is a journalist, social sctivist, atheist and socialist and should not be confused with the Christian one, the sportswriter from the USA or the lawyer. Or any other, for that matter.

I was in exile from South Africa for 27 years, nine of them spent in New Zealand where I wrote and had publlished Bitter Hill (Avante Garde, 1972), UFO - Here? Great New Zealand Fire Disaters and Hillary the years after (all Wilson & Horton between 1974 and 1976), The Broken PIeces (Dryden, 1975), and the text for the Paul Hamlyn picture book, This is New Zealand (1977).

I am also the author of The Observer (England) 6th form studies guide, South Africa (Holmes McDougall, 1987) and, most recently, Comrade Moss — A Political Journey (RedWorks, 2009) and Unfinished Business — South Africa, apartheid & truth (RedWorks, 2001; Verso, 2003).
