Mary boyd Wagner was born in Berkely California, in 1910 she married William Wagner and eventually went to live with him in Putnam Valley, NY. They also had an appartment in Tudor City, Manhattan, NY NY.
Mrs. Wagner had one daughter, one granddaughter, one grandson and several great grand-children, before she passed away from the complications of a stroke.
She was very proud of her writing and elloucutions skills having won awards for both. As an adult she taught poetry and was given several honary degrees from area colleges. She was a student of Christian Science and wrote about that subject as well.
As one of her great-granddaughters I have many fond memories. Mrs. Wagner loved to work in the kitchen and late summer and early fall were busy times for canning jellies and jams. She enjoyed taking me with her to the city visiting museums, the United Nations, Radio City Music Hall and Times Square. Her poetry reflects her approach to life. Sadly she passed away after a stroke in January 1969 and is burried in the family plot in Cortland Manner Cemetary.
