**Catherine Ann Sunshine**
Catherine born in 1954 is a writer, editor and translator based in Washington D.C. In the late 1980's with the help of the *Ecumenical Program on Central America and the Caribbean (EPICA)*, a nonprofit organization seeking to educate the poor of Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean, she published her first book which is an introduction to Caribbean history and politics, "*The Caribbean: Survival, Struggle and Sovereignty*" (1985 and 1988).
She later co-edited other titles in a series published by the organization Network of Educators on the Americas (NECA) called "*Caribbean Connections*", these are:
- "Puerto Rico" (1990)
- "Jamaica" (1991)
- "Overview of Regional History" (1991)
