‘Me’

I was born and raised in an idealistic little village in Kent, and now thanks to my husband I live in a far louder, busier South East London, I’m still adjusting and it’s been seventeen years.
I have spent many years trying to balance my own life and the madhouse I live in. Therefore a few of my own experiences, my love for superhero costumes and a lot my family members have crept into my books. Whether or not they will still admit to being my family members once they have read some of them remains to be seen.
I have four children, although my eldest son passed away after a long fight with a muscle wasting illness two years ago. He keeps me strong and determined and is missed every minute.
My husband is a barrister and a football fanatic (not much time for me then). I have a fourteen year old son who is a complete brain box, I think he was about four years old when he realised he was smarter than the both of us.
Then there’s my ‘thirteen going on thirty’ year old daughter who has just discovered lipstick. And due to my husbands panic and probably his own memory of being a teenager, she has been banned from dating until she’s thirty at least.
My youngest son is ten and is a wheelchair user with a cheeky streak equal to none.
When he was a week old they told us that he’d had a brain haemorrhage so extensive he’s never even be able to talk.
I frequently tell him I’m going to go back to those doctors and get my money back because he honestly never shuts up.
They were all my inspiration for Alex’s boys. My husband of course thinks he’s my inspiration for Paul and I don’t like to burst his bubble bless him.
I have always written for as far back as I can remember, it keeps me sane half the time, I’m mad for the other half! I am also studying for my psychology degree; I’m three years in with the Open University doing home study.
I don’t really have time for hobbies, but I love chocolate cake with a passion, and it keeps me off the brandy and valium. Its okay I’m joking… I still need the brandy and valium.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.
