Julie Pujol Karel -Nick name (Irma).
A Cuban Inmigrant, and a American Citizen, came to USA in 1962. Wrote her first poem while traveling from Cuba to USA in a napkin, eversince she writes poetry and short stories in Spanish and English.
She has won a great number of prizes for her work, here and abroad. She was recognized by the Houston University in 2004 for her work "Exile" "Exilio", Literacy and the Arts, Clear Lake for her work "Shells", "Memories" and "You are My Light" 2005.
More recently, 2008, her Book "Imposible Olvidar" Obtuvo el premio a la excelencia by Literacy Now, in Los Angeles, CA, and her book "Del Otro Lado del Oceano: obtuvo el prestigioso premio de "Ayuda al Escritor Latino" by Millenium Press.
Recently, she won a nomination as one of the Women in Literacy".
When you ask Julie how she accomplished her success as a writer she simply answers: "Everything is possible through Christ.
