Francine Marrs was born in Feburary of 1941 in Peoria Illinois. Her parents were music instructors Walter E Marrs and Florence Dubois, she had a younger sister Carol Marrs. Soon after WWII her parents were divorced and she was raised by her Mother. Franny was an extremley brillant child and it was noted early in life that she would do much for this world.
She entered high School by way of the convent, The Sister of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria Illinois. Upon graduating she did not take final vows and went on to St Francis Medical University where earned her R.N Degree, she later earned her degree in Anesthesiology as a Nurse Anesthetist. Francine worked in the medical field for 35 years.
In 1971 Francine adopted three beautiful little girls and raised then as a single Mother. Mary Christine, Carol Rosina and Ellen Joann. Her Mother Florence, played a large role in their upbringing of her daughters. The girls were doted on by their Aunt Carol and loved by their many cousins.
Upon her retirement from the medical field, she began to knit and sew. Knitting became her passion. She joined the knitters forum www.knittersforum.com and had a short story appear in the book *Cheaper Then Therapy* , Annie Modesitt (editor). Her short Story "I Only Knit for My Grandchildren" received rave reviews. It was published by Modeknit Press. Francine lovingly crafted beautiful items for her daughters and grandchildren. As with anything Francine set her hand to, her knitting was amazing.
Surrounded by her loving family, Francine Marrs died of kidney complications on August 18, 2010 . She was preceded in death by her parents. She left behind 3 daughters, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 1 Sister, 6 nieces and 4 nephews. But more importantly she leaves behind a legacy of love, sharing and forgiveness.
To my Aunt Fran - You are greatly loved and sorely missed. Keep dancing with Jesus.
