Mark Bohland is an artist, educator, author and consultant. He holds a master’s degree in both education and in photography. Mark began his teaching career in 1974. He has taught in both public and private schools, and for the last 9 plus years, he has been employed by the Mid Ohio Educational Service Center in North Central Ohio, where he works with academically gifted students. He is the author of Mystery Disease and Mystery River, problem based learning books, published by Prufrock Press. Over 2,000 teachers throughout the United States and Canada are using his books in their classrooms.
Mark is currently writing a new, comprehensive book designed to help teachers remain stress free, while meeting the needs of different student groups at the same time. He is now accepting new and highly modified activities, strategies, and worksheets that teachers have found useful for inclusion in the new book. Mark’s enthusiasm and dedication in the classroom have earned him a “Teacher of the Year†award from the Ohio Association For Gifted Children. His motivation and inspiration of students has been recognized with a Crawford County (OH) “Business Education Student Teacher†award. Mark has inspired hundreds of teachers and artists at local, state, and regional conferences and workshops throughout the Midwest. He is available to school districts throughout the English speaking world, for professional development seminars, in-class modeling sessions, ongoing teacher coaching, and to parent/teacher groups where he empowers participants to improve their students’ achievement.
