Nate Butler began his career as an advertising art director, then worked as a freelance graphics designer, cartoonist, and commercial artist for over twenty years. During this time he worked for Jim Henson Productions, Weekly Reader, Children's Television Workshop, Consumer's Union, DC Comics, and King Features Syndicate, as well as script writing for Modern Publishing, Archie Comics, and Marvel Comics.

In 1999 he entered full-time ministry. He is currentlyPresident of COMIX35, a comics ministry based on EXodus 35:30-35.
