James Rushing grew up on a farm in Oklahoma, worked as a sheet rocker, ironworker, pressman, and army volunteer. He is a Vietnam Veteran Against the War, husband and father, a founding member of the OK Libertarian Party, and he has three US patents. Rushing owned and operated Leather Shops in Utica NY, Manhattan, Key West, Oklahoma City, Pasadena CA, and Laguna Beach CA. He was on the board of directors of the Laguna Canyon Conservancy in Laguna Beach CA, chairman Libertarian Party of Orange Co. CA, political activists for Ron Paul Campaign for Liberty, landscape painter and political novelist.
