What began in 2001 as a creative writing lark for Allison Cesario Paton has mushroomed into the Mrs. Bundle Mystery Series, now a growing progression of books. When she first created the "little world" of Mrs. Bundle and North Pillson Corners, she had no idea how much fun it would be to write about a strong female protagonist and the surrounding intrigue and danger that Mrs. Bundle, Angie, and Cracker find wherever they go.

The author, who grew up in Vermont and has lived in Maine for over three decades, has a deep respect and love for the hardy ways of New Englanders. Her readers include every age group: from young people to those “of a mature age.” Correspondence from throughout the country comes from readers who love the Pillson way of life and the way Paton integrates real towns, landmarks, buildings, topography, and surrounding events into the storyline (which all provide the framework for each mystery).
