Ron Belshaw was an electrical / electronics engineer, who later taught video editing on computers. Physics has always been an interest.
After moving away from coal and power industries, he returned to reading popular physics books. He attended Continuing Education courses at the Kellogg Foundation in Rewley House Oxford, where it became apparent physics still had not found out what CHARGE really is.
In the summer of 1998 a discussion about charge, and the instant particles are formed from electromagnetic energy. When producing diagrams to aid understanding of energy to particle conversion, one of the waveforms had an extra half wave.
That was the instant Ron Belshaw realised how simple the cause of charge really is.
It was not until later that the significance of how charge is constant for all particles ensured that charge indcates the internal structure of particles.
