Bruce Lader's book, Discovering Mortality, was a finalist for the Brockman-Campbell Award and Roanoke Chowan Award. A former Writer-in Residence at the Wurlitzer Colony, and recipient of an honorarium from the College of Creative Studies at UC-Santa Barbara, he has published poems in over 100 journals, including Poetry, New York Quarterly, Poet Lore, New Millennium Writings, International Poetry Review, Confrontation, Main Street Rag, Malahat Review, and Poetry Salzburg Review. Readings of his poetry have been given on the radio in Santa Barbara and Taos. Bruce is the Founding Director of Bridges Tutoring, an organization educating multicultural students. He holds a Master of Science degree in Special Education, and completed his poetry Master's Thesis in Creative Writing at North Carolina State University.
