He was born in 1976 in a small village named Sunu, West Timor, Indonesia, and grew up in the East Timor's Enclave of Oecusse, where he finished his elementary, secondary and high schools. He graduated from the University of Nusa Cendana in Kupang, West Timor, in February 2000. Besides writing poetry and dictionaries, he teaches Spanish (and sometimes Tetum) as well as translating (poetry, etc.).
