Moin Qazi has spent a major part of his three decade career in SBI in microfinance as a grassroots field officer, program manager,senior executive , policy maker and professional researcher. He holds a doctorate in Economics and English Literature. He has written extensively on microfinance in well known national and international journals on development finance. He was a representative of commercial banks on the Expert Committee consisting of CGMs of RBI/NABARD, and senior bureaucrats from Afro-Asian, Latin American, and Asian countries (including India) which visited the universities of Oxford and Manchester, International Fund for Agricultural Development, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of Malaysia and Grameen Bank to design microfinance driven programs for poverty alleviation in underdeveloped and developing countries. .A renowned poet he has authored four volumes of poetry .He is also a Visiting Faculty on microfinance at several national training establishments. He has played a key role in promoting microfinance in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. Among the several awards that Qazi has received include Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award, Bharat Gaurav Award and Vocational Excellence Award from Rotary Foundation. He also received Dr Ambedkar Fellowship from the Dalit Sahitya Academyand Michael Madhusudan Poetry Award .As an editor of his bank’s house journal ,Elephanta he received several national awards for excellence in editing including Best House Journal of the Year Award . Qazi has also been Chancellor’s nominee on Nagpur University
