Martha Leah Nangalama first moved to Canada in 1987 and attended the UWC school, Pearson College in Victoria BC. She did her under graduate studies at Trent University in Peterborough Ontario, Canada in the Faculty of Business. She did her graduate studies at University of Toronto in Ontario Canada in the Faculty of Information Studies. She did the research mentioned in this project for a large retail store in Canada when Point of Sale (POS) was being introduced in all major retail stores in Canada shortly after Ross Perot had patented the idea of POS . She graduated and moved on to work in the Oil Industry using her Information Technology skills as she had all the core courses in Computer Studies from Trent University. She is now an entrepreneur who owns 49% of an export company and has a business partner who owns 51% of the company. She is a dedicated community participant and a proud mother of 3 beautiful girls as well as recently, a little adorable grand son. Her community involvement revolves around 'working with the ones who have been left behind' and her ideology is "who shall be your brother's keeper?'. She believes that the best thing we can do in our communities (even before we attack the problems on another continent) is to look right in our own backyard and spend of ourselves with our money; share our time, tallents and qualifications; give of ourselves, but we must start with our family and neighbours.
