Zoé Jiménez Corretjer is a professor in the Department of Humanities, University of Puerto Rico at Humacao.
She has a Doctorate Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and has taken several professional seminars in the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain and in the Ateneo de Madrid. She has published 11 books: Her most recent novel: Puerto Nube (2008) by Terranova Editores, "Rosa Náutica" (Nautic Rose) (2008) by Torremozas, Madrid, Sala de Espera ("Waiting Room") (2007), Antigua VÃa ("Ancient Way") (2007), Cánticos del Lago ("Canticles of the Lake") (2007), La mano que escribe: Literatura, Arte y Pensamiento ("The Writing Hand: Literature, Art and Thought") (2007), El Fantástico Femenino en España y América ("The Fantastic Feminine in Spain and America") (2001), Cuentos de una bruja (2000), Poemanaciones (1992), Crónicas Interplanetarias ("Interplanetary Chronicles") (1991) and Las menos cuarto (Madrid, 1985).
Zoé Jiménez Corretjer is the director of The International Journal of Humanistic Studies and Literature in her university. She has been included in several important anthologies. Two of them are: The AntologÃa de PoesÃa Puertorriqueña compiled by Mercedes López Baralt and the AntologÃa de PoesÃa Latinomericana del Siglo XXI edited by Julio Ortega. Jiménez Corretjer has contributed writing scripts for television program En la punta de la lengua.
The following critics have written about her works: Priscilla Gac-Artigas, Guillermina Wallas, Eugenia Toledo-Keyser, Aida Toledo, José E. Santos, Mario Cancel, Héctor Cavallari, Concha Alborg, Isaac Donoso y Andrea Gallo. In 1986 she obtained the First Poetry Medal Francisco Matos Paoli in the University of Puerto Rico. She teaches since 1996 literature and humanities at the University of Puerto Rico. Her books can be found at libraries and in some mega book stores online.
In 2008 she received the Pen Club Prize.
