Er ist Spezialist für die deutsche Geistes- und Ideengeschichte im 20. Jahrhundert und arbeitet zur Zeit an einem Projekt über den Liberalismus in Westdeutschland und den USA, das von der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung unterstützt wird. Seit 2005 lehrt Bavaj Europäische Geschichte des Zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts an der University of St Andrews.
**Riccardo Bavaj** is a Lecturer in Modern European History at the University of St Andrews.
