Muhamet Tërnava was born on 25th of May 1947 in Lismir village, municipality of Fushë Kosova-Kosovo
Because of his work on Kosovo population during the medievalism epoch, that debunked the Serbian myth over the structure of Kosovo population during the medieval period, he has been persecuted and imprisoned during the 80s. The torture and harsh treatment to which he was subjected, influenced his overall health.
His well-known book “Popullsia e Kosovës gjatë shekujve XIV-XIV” (Kosovo Population during the XIV – XVI centuries) was published in 1995 even though it was submitted for publishing during the 80-s.
He is also an author of several other books, such as “Bellasica gjatë gjysmës së dytë të shekullit XVI” (“Bellasica during the second half of XVI century”), “Kaçaniku me rrethinë deri në Luftën II Botërore" (Kaçanik and its vicinity up to the Second World War) etc.
