Irka Cederberg is a social worker and journalist. She has during two decades been observing the situation of the romani people, and reported in newspapers, radio and television. She has also contributed to the book "*Ett fördrivet folk - antologi om förtryck och diskriminering av romer/zigenare/resande*", published in 2005 by **Forum för levande historia**, and contributed the entry about Romain in the Swedish National Encyclopedia. In 2006 Irka Cederberg received the award "Årets frilans" for her work on "the history of the romanis and their painful exclusion from society".
