Se gradúa de arquitecto en la Universidad Católica de Washingto. Es co-fundador y director de INCINE en los ochenta, y miembro fundador de La fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano.
Ha realizado varias exposiciones de su pintura en Centro América y Europa. Escribió dos libros: Nadie de Importancia (cuentos, 1984) y Así en la tierra... (novela, 2009). Reside en Managua, Nicaragua. email: laguna@cablenet.com.ni
