Basil was born on Aug. 17, 1910--parents Benjiman Harrison & Ollie Jane Cantley Workman.
He served in the US Army, graduated from Clearf Fork High School, attended Glenville State College and was emplpoyed by the Raleigh County Board of Education as an Attendance Director (Truant Officer). Basil attended and was a member of Workman s Creek Methodist Church. He was married to Beulah Atha Huffman Workman 12/24/1950. Had 2 children: Sharon Kay borm 8/9/51 and Jane Ellen born 12/04/1953
