Our Review
I first read this book a few years ago but a friend lent me a copy again recently after we had been talking about it and I said I couldn’t remember if I had read it or not. Within a few pages, I remembered reading it before.
I initially found this book difficult to get into but once I got into the sway of things I was able to enjoy it.
The Alchemist is a story about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of treasure after having a recurring dream. During the book he meets a fortune teller, a king and a beautiful woman.
Everyone he meets on his journey has something to tell him or teach him about life.
This book is very spiritual and is written in the style of a parable. It is a book about the importance of following your dreams.
Although it wasn’t always very easy to read it was beautifully written.
