Christmas At Flora's House
By

Blurb
On the windswept dunes of the Isle of Harris in the wild and beautiful Outer Hebrides of Scotland, is a small white house with a big history. These days, Flora’s House is a holiday home – the perfect base for visitors from far and wide to explore the stunning
and often dramatic landscape.
Arriving with one suitcase for clothes and another for their own decorations, retired couple Maggie and Roger have booked Flora’s House for the festive season. It’s their first trip to the island and their first Christmas away from home – but where does Roger disappear to on his long walks? And why is Maggie so taken with one particular member of staff at the local shop?
Christmas is coming: a time for family and togetherness, for joy and forgiveness. Out there, high on the hills and deep in the heather, across the shimmering lochs and hidden in the waves, this Christmas will soon become unlike any Maggie and Roger have had before.
Our Review
Christmas at Flora's House by Freya North is the perfect festive read for anyone who loves a story steeped in warmth and nostalgia. From the very first chapters, it wraps you in a cosy embrace, evoking the magic of the festive season without feeling clichéd. The setting is beautifully drawn and the perfect setting for a new kind of Christmas for Maggie and her long-suffering husband Roger.
I always fall into the world of Freya North's characters and this book was no exception. I loved Maggie from the start despite being a little exasperated and flummoxed by some of her actions. I love Christmas and like most readers I understood her uncertainty over abandoning a lifetime of Christmsas traditions to spend the festive season in unfamiliar surroundings. I defintely would be with her in wanting to cart my own Christmas decorations with me if I spent Christmas somewhere other than my home (or that of my family.)
I found myself completely invested and by the time the revelations unfolded, I was sobbing . Freya North has a gift.
Followers of Freya North will notice that the cottage is the same one featured in Little Wing.
If you’re looking for a Christmas read that balances heartwarming moments with poignant themes, Christmas At Flora's House is perfect. It’s not just a Christmas story—it’s about belonging, healing, and the ties that bind us.
I look forward to reading more books from this series.
