Our Review

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was even better than the first book in the series.  I enjoyed the previous book a lot, but I felt it didn’t match up to the Harry Potter series, but I thought The Crimes of Grindelwald definitely managed to match it.

When the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander he made a threat, to escape custody. He begins gathering followers, a lot of whom are unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

The only thing I disliked about this book is that it is written in the form of a screenplay, but this was something I knew before I read it. I find this form of writing tends to distract me from the plot and loses some of the suspense.

For anyone who is planning on reading Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on an e-reader I would suggest you reconsider because the hardback copy is beautiful, definitely a book you should judge by it’s cover.

I love that Dumbledore is in this book as he was hands down my favourite character in the Harry Potter Series.

The Crimes of Grindelwald has some very well-written characters in it. My favourite new character was Leta. I also felt that Queenie gained a bit of depth to her character in this book.

The Crimes of Grindelwald is full of adventure of and excitement for Newt and although he wants to stay out of it he ends up getting dragged in despite his wishes.

THESEUS: You know, the time is coming that everyone’s going to have to pick a side. Even you.”

I can't wait for the next installment.
