How to Disappear

How to Disappear

Blurb

What do you do when you can't run, and you can't hide?

Lauren's daughter Zara witnessed a terrible crime. But speaking up comes with a price, and when Zara's identity is revealed online, it puts a target on her back.

The only choice is to disappear.

To keep Zara safe Lauren will give up everything and everyone she loves, even her husband.

There will be no goodbyes. Their pasts will be rewritten. New names, new home, new lives.

The rules are strict for a reason. They are being hunted. One mistake - a text, an Instagram like - could bring their old lives crashing into the new.

They can never assume someone isn't watching, waiting.

As Lauren will learn, disappearing is easy. Staying hidden is harder...

Our Review

How To Disappear was brilliant, compelling and tense. I have read other books by this author before and loved them but I had forgotten that when I started reading and I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading and couldn't put it down.

Lauren has a pretty good life, a husband she loves and a home she has worked very hard to get just right. All of this is uprooted when he much loved daughter Zara witnesses a murder and she is forced to go into witness protection.

Lauren really struggles with the move, being cut off from friends, family and even her husband. She also struggled to retain a sense of self.

"The handbag, the lipstick and the preference for custard tarts and celebrity gossip are old. The part of her that she has been permitted to keep the parts of her that are left. She thinks of everything she can no longer do: kiss her husband, post on Instgram. Tell the truth."

I read How To Disappear in a very short space of time. If this was a film I would have been shouting at the characters at times. This was an edge-of-your-seat read.
