The Therapist
By B. A. Paris
Blurb
When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in The Circle, a gated community of exclusive houses, it is everything they’ve dreamed of. But appearances can be deceptive…
As Alice is getting to know her neighbours, she discovers a devastating, grisly secret about her new home, and begins to feel a strong connection with Nina, the therapist who lived there before.
Alice becomes obsessed with trying to piece together what happened two years before. But no one wants to talk about it. Her neighbours are keeping secrets and things are not as perfect as they seem…
Our Review
The Therapist is one of those books that has you looking over your shoulder constantly. I couldn’t sleep because I wanted to read more or maybe it just made me scared to close my eyes. It was chilling to say the least.
Alice and Leo are new to the exclusive gated community of The Circle in the heart of London. After living in a little cottage previously and only seeing Leo at weekends Alice has some adjusting to do.
Fitting in is all Alice can think about it until she discovers a grisly secret about the former occupant of the house and now all she can think about is Nina the former occupant.
Alice wants to discover more but the neighbours are unwilling to talk, and Alice could be putting herself in danger.
“It’s very pretty here, like a movie set depicting an enviable life in the capital city. I didn’t really believe places like this existed until Leo showed me the photos, and even then, it had felt too good to be true.”
The Therapist was gripping and definitely displays the author at her best.
