Operation Nativity

Operation Nativity

Blurb

THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS FAMILY ADVENTURE.

“All I want for Christmas is for everyone to read this book.” A.F. Steadman, author of Skandar and the Unicorn Thief

“You might have heard the story of the nativity a thousand times, but I can guarantee you’ve NEVER heard what REALLY happened . . . So here’s the story of the Christmas we saved Christmas, and found out how much it really meant to us all.”

When Oscar and Molly rush outside to investigate a massive crash in the night, they're not expecting to find a dazed Angel Gabriel wandering around their grandparents' back garden. And they're certainly not expecting to find themselves in a race against time to save Christmas.

But if they don't track down a missing shepherd, wise man, donkey and the actual Mary and Joseph, who've all crash-landed in Chipping Bottom thanks to an angelic mishap, not only will Christmas cease to exist, but they will too. No presents, no crackers, no Christmas dinner - no Oscar and Molly!

Operation Nativity is on.

From the queen of heart and humour, Jenny Pearson, comes a magical Christmas adventure filled with festive delight, and the joy of celebrating Christmas with the ones you love.

Our Review

"It is Christmas. after all. I say, let the family festive fun begin! What's the worse that can happen?"

Operation Nativity is the perfect book to read this Christmas. It made me laugh and cry and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling at the end.

Oscar and Molly are spending Christmas with their grandparents, something that their parents have desperately avoided in the past due to the pressure caused by the family nativity. Their mum is all for coming up with an excuse to avoid it again this year but then she learns something that changes her mind.

Molly and Oscar hear a crash in the woods and are startled to find the Angel Gabriel wandering about the garden. They are even more shocked when they learn they must help him save Christmas before it is too late.

Operation Nativity reminded me heavily of my favourite Christmas film, Christmas Vacation because it made me laugh a lot but the message at it's heart is essentially about the real things that matter at Christmas. If you are thinking you know all about the Nativity story you are wrong.

"The bit they won't have told you about is the accidental detour Mary and Joseph took to Chipping Bottom, a pretty and characterful village in Hampshire, which came about thanks to a less-than-professional spot of angeling."

Operation Nativity made me laugh out loud numerous times and I finished it super quickly. I recommend it if you want a feel good Christmas book.

"I believe in a lot of things now - especially the magic of Christmas."
