Adele Stevens Beckett, 95, Southern California community leader particularly active with the Red Cross. A native of Chicago, Mrs. Beckett grew up in Port Townsend, Wash., and spent most of her adult life in Los Angeles and San Diego. She was first honored as a Red Cross volunteer for her work at its blood bank during World War II. She was also active in the National Charity League, the Associates of Caltech, Friends of the Claremont Colleges, the Round the World Club and Ebell of Los Angeles. Descended from a family of Tirolean innkeepers who immigrated to San Diego in the 19th Century, Mrs. Beckett became the ancestral historian, in 1981 writing and self-publishing a lively collection of illustrated family anecdotes, "Relatively Speaking." On Oct. 18 in Rancho Bernardo, Calif.
