Dr. Zahid Shah born 1n 1960 was bred in Turangzai, a town in District Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtun Khwa. In 1974 he moved to Tangi, another town of District Charsadda where he did his matriculation from Government High School Tangi in 1977. Having done his graduation from the University of Peshawar in 1983, he was admitted into an academic program of Master of Arts in Pakistan Studies at Pakistan Study Center, University of Peshawar and got Gold Medal. In 1989-90, he was admitted into Ph.D. progrm in the Area Study Center, University of Peshawar and got his degree in 1996. His Ph.D. thesis titled "Muslim Freedom Fighters of India based in Central Asia" was published jointly by the Area Study center and Haans Siedal foundation in 2000. Dr. Zahid shah has served the Education Department of Government of NWFP as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Profesor and finally as Principal, Government Postgraduate College, Charsadda from 1988 till 2009. In 2010, he joined COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbotabad where he is engaged in teaching and research activity. He is currently working on " Religio-Political Movements in the Pashtun Belt" and has focussed on the "Roshnites" followed by research on the "Akhund of Swat", "Mulla Pawinda", "Hadda Mulla", "The Khudai Khidmatgars" and the "Epi Faqir" which will appear in the form of another book.
