Author: Joan MacKinnon

Joan MacKinnon was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and graduated from Queen's University with a B.A. (Hons.) in History in 1973, and a Master of Museology from the University of Toronto in 1975. She became Curator of Furnishings at Old Fort William, then was Facilities Director for the Historic Sites Service of Alberta Culture from 1978-1984. She has since researched the House Chapel at Fort Dunvegan, Alberta; the metis missionary George Flett; and completed a two volume family history of the descendants of Charles MacKinnon and Christina Cameron, published in 2008. She currently lives in Midland, Michigan.
