[Deutsch] Theodor Waitz (geb. 1821 in Gotha; gest. 1864 in Marburg) war ein deutscher Philosoph, Völkerpsychologe und Pädagoge. Von 1848 bis zu seinem Tode war er außerordentlicher Professor der Philosophie an der Universität Marburg. Waitz, der der Herbartschen Schule anhing, sah Psychologie als Basis jeder Philosophie und war ein scharfer Kritiker der Philosophie von Fichte, Schelling und Hegel.
[English] Theodor Waitz (b. 1821 in Gotha; d. 1864 in Marburg), was a German psychologist and anthropologist. Von 1848 until his death he was appointed professor of philosophy in the University of Marburg. Waitz, following the school of Herbart, considered psychology to be the basis of all philosophy and was a severe critic of the philosophy of Fichte, Schelling and Hegel.
