He served the military during Ward War II as a Havildar. He wrote five novels--Oosaravellulu, Bhavikalam, Jwalasundari, Sitha Katha and Viraamam--and 300 short stories. Viraamam has been hailed as an avant garde novel in Telugu having been the first war novel in that language.
