Nato a Castellammare del Golfo (TP) nel 1915. Poeta, sindacalista, giornalista, rettore e preside dei Convitti Nazionali di Stato, segretario particolare del Ministro in alcuni Ministeri.
E' stato combattente e prigioniero in Africa. Ha svolto attività sindacale ed ha avuto diversi incarichi presso vari Ministeri. Per otto anni ha lavorato alle direzione genrale degli affari culturali con l'estero. Nel 1979 ha ricevuto dal Presidente della Repubblica la medaglia d'oro al merito della cultura. Giornalista , scrittore ha pubblicato un felice volume di racconti "Il vulcano non si spegne" (Macchia Editore - Roma 1953).
Nel 1966 con la Vallecchi Editore di Firenze pubblica "Le Soste", una raccolta di poesie (“notevoli” come le definì Giuseppe Ungaretti) che ha ottenuto un grande successo ed è stato tradotto all'estero. Nel 1975 esce un'altra raccolta di poesie "Uomo di terra" (De Luca Editore - Roma).
E' morto a Roma nel maggio 1983
