As a child growing up in a single-parent home in Birmingham, Alabama Lonnie always dreamed of having an impact on one’s life. Shortly after high school Lonnie joined the United States Marine Corps, where he successfully served eight years and is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Lonnie was honorably discharged on December 2, 1992, and enrolled at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Investment Management. Lonnie also has a Masters Degree in Accounting (Taxation) from Strayer University.

Lonnie developed a passion for personal finance after learning and understanding the exciting and mysterious world of finance. With persistence and determination, Lonnie continues a process of unending self-education that has distinguished him as an authority on personal finance and the process of getting debt out of the lives of individuals. To realize his passion, Lonnie has held positions as a financial analyst and as a financial planner.
