Major Ashley Rawlins a Nevisian, born in Rawlins Village, Gingerland, Nevis, West Indies to William and Veronica Rawlins, moved to Matchman’s Road, Gingerland, Nevis at age 8 years. The first of four children; Mrs. Ullida Gill, His Lordship Chief Justice Hugh Rawlins and Mr. Franklyn Rawlins. Grew up in Gingerland, attended The Gingerland Senior School and the Gingerland Methodist Church before moving to the UK as a teenager.
