Fred Vanore Producer – Director

Fred Vanore began his career as a fashion and theatrical photographer. It was his distinct photographic style and unique set designs that made him a virtual overnight success.

In 1982 Fred Vanore had his first opportunity to change roles and directed his first television commercial, for the Casio Pocket - TV. The commercial became a success marking Fred’s transition into television production. Since that time Fred Vanore has produced and directed over one hundred and fifty television commercials, specials, half hour programs and music videos.

Fred Vanore has directed such notable celebrities as Mel Gibson, Christopher Reeve, Paul Newman, Renee Russo, Judith Light, Susan Sarandon, and Joanne Woodward. Fred appreciates the compliments but readily admits... “It’s not all that difficult to direct Academy Award winning actors”.

As a producer Fred Vanore is known for his charitable production specials as well. Donating his services as producer and director for charitable causes including the American Paralysis Association with Christopher Reeve and most recently The Children’s Therapy Center. During an Entertainment Tonight interview Fred was quoted as saying... “I think it’s wonderful when you can use the power of the media to help people”.

While producing his television special with Christopher Reeve Fred Vanore also co-wrote the theme song for A Circle Of Friends entitled “A Shining Star”. It was a high point for Fred when his song was recorded by rhythm and blues legend Chaka Khan. As for the recording Fred said... “Having Chaka Khan record one of my songs.... was like a dream come true”.

Fred Vanore is the founder of Blue Moon Studios and is recognized throughout the industry as one of the most respected producers in the Direct Response field. As a producer Fred has consistently produced hit after hit for his clients. In fact in 2008 Fred received four Jordan Whitney Awards for production excellence. The awards included Best Short Form Commercial Production of the year for Wallet Pix and Idea Village. Best Short Form Direction for Craft-Lite Cutter and Merchant Media. Best Short Form Electronics Presentation for My Lil Reminder and All Star Marketing. In addition, Fred was awarded Most Innovative Short Form Hardware Presentation, for the Handy Switch with the industry’s leading spokesperson, Billy Mays.

As Executive Producer Fred specializes in producing short form direct response commercials. Blue Moon Studios currently produces for most of the major Direct Response marketing companies in the country. Clients includes such companies as Idea Village, Telebrands, All Star Marketing, Ontel, Merchant Media, Sylmark, Church & Dwight and SMW for Proctor & Gamble.
