Prof. Ferid Hudhri (PhD) is an art historian and researcher in visual arts. He was born in 1949 in Albania.

In 1974 he graduated from the Academy of Arts in Tirana. In 1986 he completed a postgraduate degree in Art History, and in 1990, a specialised training in Art History at the Museum of Louvre in Paris.

During 1974 - 1985 he worked at the League of Writers and Artists of Albania as an editor in visual arts. In the years 1992 - 1997 he was director of the Centre of Art Studies of the Academy of Sciences in Tirana.
At present he works as the director of the Department of Fine Arts.
He continues to travel abroad for research purposes in many countries, including France, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, Greece and Egypt.

He is the author of many works of art criticism and art history. His most successful books are: Albania and Albanians in World Art, published first in Albanian (1989), then in English (1990), Art of Albanian Renaissance, which was awarded the 'Silver Pen' prize in Tirana in 2002, and Albania Through Art, published in Albanian and English (2003). Currently he is working on his next book Albania’s Rediscovery Through Foreign Artists.
