Ajmer Rode writes in English and Punjabi and has published several books of poetry, drama and translation. His latest book Leela co-authored with Navtej Bharati, is more than 1000 pages long and is considered one of the most important Punjabi poetry works of the twentieth century. Poems At My Doorstep (Caitlin) is his latest poetry book in English. Outstanding Punjabi novel The Last Flicker is among his translations into English. He was on the National Council of the Writers Union of Canada in 1994 and is founding member of several Indo Canadian literary and performing arts associations in Vancouver. He has also served on Canada council and BC Arts Council juries. Rode was given the Best Oversees Author Award by the Punjab Languages Department, India, in 1994. He is included in Who's Who of Indian Writers.
