Basudeb Chakraborti is Professor of English at the university of Kalyani,West-Bengal,India.After obtaining a Master's degree in English from the university of Calcutta, Mr Chakraborti proceeded to Houston,Texas,U.S.A. and completed the Master's programme in English at the university of Houston at Clear Lake City in 1981.Coming back to India he did his M.Phil. in English from Nagpur university and Ph.D. in English from Kalyani university.
In 2003,he visited the university of Central Arkansas at Conway as a World Humanist Scholar and delivered a series of lectures at the graduate department of the university.
Recently Professor Raymond Jean-Frontain and Chakraborti edited critical essays on R.K.Narayan. Particulars about the book:
