Nació en Xalapa, Veracruz, el 23 de diciembre de 1965. Narrador, ensayista, director de teatro. Es Licenciado en Letras Españolas por la Universidad Veracruzana. Maestro en Literatura Latinoamericana por la New Mexico State University. Ha sido teaching assistant, visiting professor, guest speaker en Universidades de Estados Unidos. Ha publicado los libros de cuento El arrebato de las certezas (UV, 2004) y Las cosas ridículas y otras cosas (Tierra adentro, 1993). Los libros de ensayo y crítica teatral Póquer con dama. Cinco cuentistas mexicanos. (IVEC/CONACULTA, 2007), La (a)puesta en escena. Crítica de teatro en Xalapa. (IVEC, 2000). Así como la antología Inventa la memoria. Narrativa y poesía del sur de México (Alfaguara, 2004, 2006). Actualmente es profesor de tiempo completo de la Facultad de idiomas de la Universidad Veracruzana.
