Jonathan MacKinnon (1869-1944), born in Inverness Co., Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, was twenty three years old when he launched *Mac-Talla*, which was, at the time, the only such (Scottish) Gaelic publication in the world.
*Mac-Talla* ("Echo") was a newspaper/magazine published weekly (later biweekly) in Sydney, Nova Scotia, between May 28, 1892, and June 24, 1904, around 540 issues in all.
